Testimonials

Moments of Truth are spotlights on employees that have demonstrated exceptional acts that go above and beyond their expected roles or duties.

Violet Sprague, LPN, frequently goes above and beyond the call of duty for her residents. She personally ensures haircuts, perms, and pretty clothes are available to as many residents as possible. She believes it is so important that Waverly Park’s residents be cheerful and happy, so she tries to do her part. Judy, our beautician, helped to facilitate this process. Great teamwork, and thank you for this moment of truth.

The tasks that each Waverly Park employee completes throughout the day can be pretty extensive. Ensuring quality patient care is the focus of all our days. On one such day Amy Lowe, Dietary Tech, took time out of her day to assist the nursing department with transporting a patient to their proper location. Amy is a true leader. Her actions were witnessed by many and will hopefully impact others with the desire to achieve any and all expectations set before them.

Clarissa Denningham is a CNA who often goes above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to our residents. Not only does she give 101% in her care of the residents, but she also puts her heart and soul into the happiness and comfort of our residents. Clarissa brings clothing and food for our residents in an attempt to make their lives more enjoyable. She also brings food for fellow staff members that does not go unappreciated. Clarissa has clearly defined herself as a special person.

Waverly Park has witnessed several changes. Change, even for the better, can lead to inconsistency and uncertainty. When our facility lost our Medical Records personnel the nursing staff was at a loss knowing that the MAR recaps were due. Eddie Figueroa took it upon himself to learn the computer program and print out the recaps so that the floor nurses did not have to handwrite them all. Eddie’s actions illustrate the true meaning of teamwork and what it means to be referred to as “a true team player”. The nursing department and several interdisciplinary staff members thank him for his actions and commitment to Waverly Park.

Each of us has our duties to perform for our residents at Waverly Park Healthcare Center. But for those who turn their duties into a passion for caring we give the moment of truth award. Linda Maxey takes great pride in caring for our residents’ personal belongings. She makes sure the clothing is properly taken care of when washing, marking, and organizing their clothing. She also mends torn clothing items with her seamstress skills and equipment at home so our residents can look their best.

Bill and Betty Beasley exemplify what it means to give of oneself for the good of the residents we serve. Bill, CNA, and Betty, Dietary Supervisor, regularly donate their time and resources to enhance the lives of our residents at Waverly Park Healthcare Center. Several times a year, the Beasley’s work hard into the early hours of the morning preparing crafts to be sold or raffled in the facility. All proceeds from these sales are donated to the residents, specifically those residents who have very little financial means. As if that isn’t enough, every month, Betty and Bill prepare Waverly Park calendars and crossword puzzles to sell with all proceeds donated to that same residents’ fund. The Beasley’s make up a generous portion of the heart of Waverly Park, and are loved and adored by all the residents of the facility for their obvious caring dedication.

Thank you, Bill and Betty, for your dedication and selfless efforts to make Waverly Park a great place for our residents.
